Imran Ahmed, Co-Founder / Board Member

 

Imran is currently a Co-founder and CEO of Star IC, which is a spin-off from Kapik Integration.

During his tenure with Kapik, Imran was responsible for leading Kapik’s analog and interface design work, Imran serves as both a designer and manager of the company’s growing technical team. He has played major roles in the development of many of Kapik's key IPs including low-power audio, MEMS sensor interfaces, wireless receivers, and numerous other projects.

Imran co-founded Kapik in 2008, shortly after completing his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Toronto. Before joining Kapik, he worked on low-power mixed signal circuit projects and held internships at Broadcom Netherlands and Snowbush Microelectronics. He also serves as a board member for Kapik.

Imran has published a number of award-winning papers in the area of ADCs. He has been an active member of IEEE, serving as treasurer of the Toronto chapter of SSCS.
